St Patrick's Day commemorates the Christianization of Ireland in the fifth century by Maewyn Succat, who came to evangelize the island, better known under the name of St Patrick. This man ensured the complete conversion of Irish people to Christianity, and presented to the king the concept of the Trinity by using a shamrock.
