Strangford Lough Maritime Festival : Portaferry side

Now, the second part of Strangford Lough Maritime festival, in Portaferry, showed by this photo below taken from the ferry.

A Viking market was held in Portaferry.

This market proposed handicrafts, exposition of arms and armors, and as illustrated by the photo below, a demonstration of bread-making.

People could also look at paintings and photos, such as photos of Northern Ireland coasts, in an exhibition area.

A workshop permitted children and parents to make their own candles.

The Queen's University Marine Laboratory opened its doors to the public and presented their work on seaweeds, used as a research subject to make a biofuel.

The photo below shows dried seaweeds, to eat like crips.

In addition, it was possible to touch sea urchins and starfishes in the laboratory.
